Saying it like it is, doesn’t mean I’ve figured it all out. It means I’m not afraid to name the problem.
If I talk about ethics, it’s because I value them—not because I’ve mastered every decision. If I critique the system, it’s because I’m inside it, trying to do better. Not because I’m outside it, untouchable. That’s not hypocrisy. That’s clarity.
We are evolving. Photographers. Painters. Sculptors. Gallerists. Curators. No one gets it right all the time. But if we don’t state our goals, we drift. If we don’t call out the rot, we become part of it. Pretending we’re all already there is delusion. Naming where we should be is necessary.
People are at different levels. Different stages. Some are just waking up to the problems. Others are deep in the fight. And some are still stuck in old habits, scared to move. That doesn’t mean we stop speaking the truth. It means we hold space for the tension between where we are and where we want to be.
So no—I’m not here to be your moral mascot. I’m here to push. Myself included.
Don’t confuse honesty for perfection. Stating a goal doesn’t mean I’ve reached it. It means I’m walking toward it with my eyes open.
